Well, I typed out a detailed response to your questions and Medium failed to save them. Even accepted technology can fail to be a tool.

My main point:

The tech adoption curve shows understanding and acceptance do not come immediately. They are measures of a technology’s success or advancement, not prerequisites for considering it a breakthrough. The tech geeks are the fringe early adopters who often realize or explore potentials before the rest accept the value. They pioneer understanding and make first judgement. Which is why tech geeks need to socialize to calibrate metrics for assessing what is humanist.

The complexity of our technology is beyond our understanding of how it functions with traditional science and technical assessment. We need now to focus on what something produces and what intentions are inputs, how they affect output.
