In the NFT frenzy, the inequity and hijacking of technology movements repeats. Some form of the term "democratization" seems to always echo in earnest-yet-naive circles at the start. It moves from a purity of philosophy in new frontiers, then taken by hype, inflated to bubbles. Consolidation after the bursting forms a predictable oligarchy. The cycle repeats for the sake of market capitalization and "maturity." If art is the antithesis of opportunism, the Creative Economy is at odds with its new self.
