Embedded to really listen, immerse, understand.

On a recent American Roadtrip with interviews, I noticed understanding shifted after a day’s connection. It clarified even more after a few days of reflection or — better yet — continuous contact with the place or person.

Even a dialogue and contextualizing it by comparing it to other active data points and sources gave it a deeper context and much more relevance. As with any initial prejudgement or hasty conclusion, I bit my own tongue as a wisdom and respect for the full story drove me to search for deeper answers.

Journalism is a true art.

I have great respect for its practitioners and faithful — especially in a communication-hostile environment where criticism of journalists, government, and writing is instinctual, for survival in the overwhelm of a fearful USA.
